About Us

Lemon was started with my sister and I in 2009 and has grown to involve the next generation and extended family, where we all do a bit of everything. Our business sits in the heart of lovely North Yorkshire, with shops currently in Richmond, Helmsley, Thirsk, Northallerton and York. 

We started the business on the shared frustration, that no matter where we looked, we struggled to find clothes that felt unique, special and truly suited us. Items we really loved were always so hard to come by and were never easily interchangeable in everyday life. We wanted to change that. Lemon was created to be a space where one-of-a-kind pieces feel available. We aim to provide clothes that are attainable in your everyday life, however, still feel special, no matter how or where you wear them. 

The items we sell are for everyone. We focus on pieces that are comfortable, flattering and fun to style in your own way. Clothes should work around you, not the other way around. At the heart of Lemon, we feel fashion should be for everyone. Getting dressed should be simple, make you feel good and let you be yourself. Lemon is about wearing what you love, dressing how you want and feeling good doing it every single day. 

about our products 

Most of our products are uniquely designed and made exclusively for us, sourced from around the world. The clothing items we sell are one size. They generally suit UK sizes 8 - 16, though fit can vary depending on the style of the item. The fit of the item can be based on how you like to wear your clothes, whether that means a more relaxed fit, a slightly more structured look or something that can be styled in multiple ways. Everyone wears clothes differently, and we love that the same piece, can look and feel unique from one person to the next. 

We always aim to give as much guidance as possible through styling, measurements, and fit notes, so you can feel confident choosing what’s right for you.
